Bumping heads and cutting it fine for Christmas

Scaffolidng heaven

I took a break from this blog once we’d got back in the house as it all seemed so close to being finished. But actually we still had a long way to go!

Despite the fact that the house was far from finished in December we still managed to fit in a fair bit of entertaining. We managed to squeeze in Eloise’s birthday party, an Earnshaw family lunch, neighbours’ Christmas drinks (that’s our actual neighbours, not the Ramsey Street ones), a Monro Christmas and some friends to stay for New Year. The majority of these invitations were issued with strict instructions to duck on your way in as the scaffolding was in prime position to knock someone out.

With a fair bit of nagging from me, the decorator finally finished the rooms he was decorating, the skip was removed the week before Christmas, the scaffolding was gone on the 21st December and the doors had door handles 2 hours before guests arrived to stay for Christmas. I spent the 22nd and 23rd December making sure that there was no bare plaster making the rooms that people would be sleeping in look even less finished than they actually were, in amongst the normal Christmas preparations.

So what did it look like?
