Welcome home (with a functioning bathroom)

Getting home from holiday at 9:30pm on Monday evening, we were very keen to see the progress. And very impressed with how much had been done! Despite it feeling like the house was full of dust on opening the door, it was clear that they’d also done a pretty good job of minimising the dust where they could.

We came home to:

  • a fully functioning ensuite bathroom – not totally finished as there’s still painting to be done, and hooks, towel rings and mirrors to be put up, but it’s the first “new” room to be in use and we love it.
  • roof tiles: the roof is done!
  • doorways: from the old house into the spare room, and from the old shower room into the ensuite
  • internal window moved (it was an external window and will be a way of getting light into the hallway)
  • old boiler removed; new boiler and hot water tank
  • old shower room stripped out
  • first fix of bathroom complete
By the end of the week the house was also insulated and ready for plasterboard to go up.
