The windows plagued this week with the promised Thursday install becoming Friday. And then Friday lunchtime. And then Friday evening… The windows company did go out of their way to get them installed on Friday as the carpenters were in on Saturday finishing off the sills and reveals before the plasterers arrival on Monday. The Ops Manager from the windows company came and installed them himself along with the only fitter who was prepared to do some overtime on a Friday evening. Much appreciated and it did mean that the carpenters could get on with their work on Saturday but I think it’s fair to say that the Ops Manager might be a little out of practice! We’re now waiting for the main installers to come back and do remedial work. And to replace the beading with the correct beading.
Other than windows, I feel as though I’ve spent my whole week trying to arrange the flooring and in tile showrooms. I don’t want to go to any more tile shops. Ever. The plastering has started in the bathroom and spare room, the first fix is done in the shower room and the old front door and doorway to what was my office have been removed.
