When we moved into our house five years ago, we had an idea that we would want to extend at some point. Three years later we were ready to get going and get rid of the very dated kitchen complete with dark brown sink. It’s taken two years to get to the start of the build with problems with our initial architect, minor disagreements with the local planning team and then momentary indecision over the choice of builder. But now we’re off!
Our house is a semi-detached cottage built in 1860 with original accommodation spread over three floors. We have a small porch, lounge, dining room, very dated kitchen and utility on the ground floor. On the first floor we have a double bedroom, a little bedroom and a bathroom. On the second floor we have a small double bedroom and another single.
